Earthquakes in China

An estimated sum of 400 people are assumed to be dead after a series of strong earthquakes ravaged the mountainous area of the Qinghai province of China early Wednesday morning. At least 10,000 people were injured and many were buried under debris. The earthquakes ranged from magnitums of 5.8-6.9 all within hours of eachother, the largest spanning earthquake since 1900.

Flood in Brazil

A total of 229 people died and thousand are wounded after floods and mudslides devastated Brazil on Sunday. Thousand of people are left homeless in Rio, where heavy rain left hundreds dead. An estimated sum of 150 people are still buried under debris and mud in Niteroi. The president of Brazil, Inacio Lula da Silva, stated that approximately 600 million dollars will go to the reconstruction of housing.
