Earthquake in China Sunday January 31st

One person was killed and eleven more were injured after an earthquake shook the Sichuan province of southwest China early Sunday morning. Due to the 5.2-magnitude quake, approximately 100 homes were destroyed.

Flood/mudslides in Machu Picchu Wednesday jan 27th 

Heavy rain in Machu Picchu, Peru killed seven people and left a total of 2000 homes destroyed last Wednesday. The rain caused flooding and mudslides, which blocked off roads and railway lines. Hundreds of tourists who travelled to visit the ruins were stranded in Aguas Calientes, the closest town to the sacred Incan cities, as well as on the Inca Trails. Peruvian authorities launched helicopter evacuations on Wednesday, which continued until Friday.
